Just Start ... Just Try
Just Start ... Just Try

Somewhere along the way, someone told you that creativity was reserved for the chosen few—the painters, the poets, the prodigies.

But that’s just not true, creativity is your birthright. It’s not about talent. It’s about permission.

You don’t have to be good; You just need to begin.

How to Begin Your Creative Journey

Start where you are, with what you have.Pick up a pen. A brush. Your phone camera. Your voice.Creativity isn't about the medium—it’s about EXPRESSION. Just get what’s inside out the best way possible. I invite you to take a look at my instagram and scroll to the bottom. I did what I could with what I had and I grew from there.

My Instagram:

Begin with curiosity: What pulls at you?

  • Follow the yes: What feels light, even if it feels awkward?

  • Just play: No pressure. Just expression.

Try a 10-minute daily practice. Sketch something. Write a few lines. Dance in your kitchen. Your creativity doesn’t care if you’re messy—only that you show up.

Nurturing the Journey

Creativity is like a plant: it needs sunlight, space, and maybe a whisper of sweet nothings here and there.

Here’s how to nourish it:

  • Protect your inner artist. Not everyone will understand. That’s okay.

  • Unplug often. Silence creates space for soul whispers.

  • Celebrate small wins. Every act of making is a sacred act.

Also—rest. Inspiration comes when we slow down. Honor your rhythms.

 Books to Spark the Journey

Need some gentle guides to walk you home to your creativity? Try these:

  • The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron

A soulful 12-week journey back to your creative self, complete with morning pages and artist dates.

  • Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

A loving, liberating reminder that creativity is a dance, not a job interview.

  • The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin

Like drinking tea with a monk who also makes music. Deep, wise, and deliciously grounding.

Reminder:

You don’t have to wait to be “good” to be creative; what does being “good” even mean. You don’t even have to believe in yourself fully yet.You just have to believe in the spark—and follow it.One step, One breath at a time.

Your creativity is not something you find. It’s something you remember.

You are continuously molding yourself along this journey. You are the artist and the art work.
